Overcome Fear By Identifying Your Personal Strengths
Today we are in a period of significant change. While change can be exciting, the uncertainty that comes with change also can bring fear. One way to overcome fear is to identify your personal strengths, It will help you to gain confidence in yourself and gain the support of others.

Indeed, if there one single factor that is critical for your performance, expansion, and growth, it is your faith in the potential of yourself and others. Writers such as Bandura (1997) have shown that how we see our potential has a more of an impact on output and performance than our level of training, background of knowledge, motivation, and almost everything else combined.

Everyone has strengths. One set of strengths that especially valuable in times of change are those strengths that have withstood the test of time. They give a sense of continuity and stability. Positive psychology identified a set of 24 character strengths and belonging to six universal virtues that are common to most cultures and traditions. Of these strengths, each person has a set of three to five strengths that form your own unique set of signature strengths. When you discover these strengths, it helps you to see how you have overcome challenges in the past. You will also find that they broaden your outlook, help you gain support from others, and find a purpose and meaning in life.

You may discover your set of signature strengths by going to the Authentic Happiness website (http://www.authentichappiness.org) and taking the "Brief Strengths Test or the "VIA Signature Strengths Questionnaire. Take time to discover them. They will enhance your happiness and success.
